Cocina! The co-working kitchen at Alte Mu

Cocina – Co-Working Kitchen Kiel is a production kitchen for food projects, food start-ups and cooking enthusiasts. It provides a fully equipped kitchen, supplier access and professional catering equipment. It is also an extracurricular learning centre for children, teenagers and adults, as the production kitchen is adjacent to a teaching and workshop kitchen for nutrition education projects.

The idea of opening a coworking space is meant to help Kiel-based food start-ups that need to find a home. The idea is very simple: a shared professional kitchen significantly reduces the economical risk for individuals, while at the same time everyone benefits from the other start-ups and their respective experiences.

An extra-curricular learning centre on the topic of nutrition

Healthy and sustainable nutrition is important to us. And what could be better than living a healthy and sustainable diet in everyday life? That's right, introducing this lifestyle to the next generation. Cocina achieved this goal as a certified extracurricular learning centre on the topic of nutrition, receiving UNESCO and NOW certification, which confirms the work in the field of education for sustainable development.
In addition to the great feeling that such an award brings, it benefits from the network and further training opportunities offered by the certification, in order to continuously optimize and develop its work.
