Marseille

The city has undergone profound changes in recent decades, partly as a result of a major urban renewal project (Euroméditerranée / Marseille Capital of European Culture 2013). Although these interventions have modified the city's image (even creating phenomena of touristification of the Vieux Port - Panier area), they have not erased the great inequalities among parts of the city, which have produced various struggles on the issue of housing and opposition to gentrification dynamics.
